Playing a Little Catch-Up
That’s all! Just playing a little catch-up. It’s begun, a busy month with lots of photo sessions and I am loving every minute but I do/will miss Em, so this one’s for her. A few photos I’ve taken over the summer, they all reflect what an incredibly happy baby is – she lights up a room and my heart.
All Sessions have been filled. Thanks for all the support!

My Fair Ava
Well she’s not exactly mine, but close enough. This darling baby girl is my friends newest addition. You may recall a previous post of Elise (her older sister) and the belly, the belly is no longer and I don’t believe anyone guessed the arrival date correctly. Another late one, Mel must keep it nice and cozy for them.
Ava Reese May Francis was born June 2nd at 1:40 pm, 8 lbs 6 ozs and 21″ tall. It’s hard to believe that all of our babies were once this tiny, it must be because it only lasts a split second and all of a sudden you’re chasing around a toddler. What fun it is to watch them grow from such delicate little people. Cherish every precious moment mommies!
Snapshot of Baby & Me Yoga!
A relaxing yoga session learning stretches to keep cool over the hot summer months, discussing each mama’s tips and tricks on how they get their wee ones to sleep, followed by my mini workshop and photo session summed up a great Tuesday morning.
Meeting some wonderful moms and their cute babes resulted in some great shots. It was quick but fun and I hope to work with some of these lovelies again.
Next up will be my mini session from the Prenatal Yoga Class.
Thanks to Blue Skies Yoga for having me as a guest speaker for the moms and moms to be yoga classes!
Kings and Queens
This gorgeous family is in full bloom! With two babes only a year apart, they certainly have a house full of life and excitement. This shoot gave me a lil’ inspiration, as I know their mommy loves poetry – here’s one for her beautiful family!
Faces bloom and giggles whistle
Amongst the green grass and thistle
Laying within the blooms of a rose
They play until the days come to close
And as evening settles over rolling hills
Ma and Pa kiss away the chills
Tucking in the little ones as love fulfills.
Photo Art up at Stork
If you haven’t been yet… what are you waiting for? The Bauer Lofts in uptown Waterloo is one of my new favourite places to frequent. As if Vincenzo’s (a gourmet market) wasn’t enough, a cute and very hip baby and kids store has opened up, Stork! It’s a great space with loads of gorgeous furniture, the best baby gear and toys. My daughter loves the Kid O blocks. And did I mention that the owner has displayed some of my photo art canvases? They look great with the exposed brick walls and funky decor. If you want to see what the unique one of kind artwork looks like, this is your opportunity to take a peak and do some great shopping while you’re at it!
Quilts and Ladders
A photo shoot rich in textures, patterns and personalities. “S” is a charming baby girl with beautiful big brown eyes that capture your heart. This one is a confident soul and ready to go. Although not always easy to capture a photo, “S” is a spunky babe. I just love her expressions!
I had so much fun working with all the props we pulled together. My old barn ladder worked perfectly with “S’s” special quilt. One of my faves from this session is Mom’s boots framing “S”, when I saw those gorgeous brown (almost) knee highs, I knew I had to use them somehow.
A fun fact: “S” was born on my first wedding anniversary.
Our First Emabee Admirable Parent!
The Emabee Wish Project has selected it’s first extraordinary parent. Thank you everyone for your submissions. There are so many parents out there deserving of some sweet honey. I have chosen a single mom, “C” this month and look forward to our shoot. She is very courageous and has a wonderful, supportive friend, “K” who believes in her and sent a heartwarming story about “C” and her baby.
Get those nominations in! The next admirable parent will be chosen at the end of June.
Two Fingers Old!
As she holds up two fingers to indicate just how old she is, tears open presents, chows down on mommy’s homemade birthday cake (which she baked at 2:30am that same day, and aren’t the candle holders adorable?), I do believe she had a great birthday celebration! Despite the semi-meltdown mid afternoon due to the sniffles, Elise was surrounded by family and friends to enjoy an afternoon of sunshine and tasty BBQ.
Life will be changing soon for this toddler, with a little sister on the way in only a month. Now that she’s a big girl I’m sure she will be delighted to help her mom care for a new baby!
Of course I look forward to the photo opportunities with the two beauties.
My guess for the big day is May 30th.
Actual due date – May 28th
When Mel wants the baby to come – NOW!!!
We Have a Winner!
Congratulations to Meghan and her baby boy Cohen, our winners of the KW March Mommy Contest! I look forward to taking pictures of Cohen near his first birthday in September.
I’m thrilled that we had such a great response! Each contestant was given a special surprise as my thanks for participating.
