Seeing as pink is one of my favourite colours and I personally think that my daughter looks fabulous in all shades of pink… it was to my great surprise to discover  how beautiful she looked in blue. OK not really, she’s beautiful any way, plus with those eyes of hers it was an obvious choice.

This afternoon I decided to take the opportunity to play with my Alien Bees some more and I can’t get over how much fun it is to use. Although a big learning curve, it’s well worth the effort. Recently it’s been suggested that I invest in this flash unit. Any input from my fellow photographers?

This shoot was amazing, my first experience with my new Alien Bees and wow what an amazing instrument! As exciting as the Martian Pink colour it comes in, the results were extraordinary. Let’s not forget about the beautiful little man I had as a model.  Chase is this blond wonder, a perfect combination of his dad, Jordan and Benjamin Button (with his moms lips of course).

I’ve known Chase’s mom, Lindsay, since we were kids so we had lots of fun playing around with my ideas, the salad bowl, the sink and the chair – I love this chair, the lines and contrast with black and white really lended itself to some great photos. The yellow onesie Lindsay brought for “mini-Benjamin”, was a perfect match with the pillow on the chair and it goes to show how a simple outfit can sometimes be the best!

I look forward to watching Chase grow and can’t wait for our next shoot!
